WHO: Mikio and open
WHAT: There is a shady guy walking around Orlea. Might be lost?
WHERE: ^
WHEN: April 8th
Warnings: As always, Mikio is partially an incubus, so courting may occur and sexual situations may happen. Also overuse of the word 'shady'

Having finally finished his underground home, Mikio washed himself up and decided to expand his knowledge of this strange world by exploring other districts. Foolish as he was, he didn't trace his steps and pinpoint his locations as he walked around, so it was no surprise that he was eventually lost.

He ended up in Orlea, and felt a wave of familiarity flow through him. This area was like a city, not unlike where he lived back home. However, it was definitely not as crowded. Mikio was at least smart enough to put on his disguise. His baggy pants, large shoes, and baggy swamp green sweatshirt with a hood definitely made him look shady. But he didn't mind. He would prefer shady over weird...not like he was aware of how shady he looked. After another hour of walking and observing, Mikio decided that he needed to find out where he was. He approached a random person, and softly placed his elongated hand on their shoulder.

"Pardon my interruption." He spoke in his usual, emotionless voice. "Where am I?"

If you recognize his voice and know it's Mikio, congrats! And if you don't? Well then it's simply just some tall, sketchy guy with his eyes covered by a hood. Nothing suspicious.

It had only been a short while since Ayumi had arrived in this strange land- feeling almost like a mere instance since she had been pushed and pulled around, like a toy, forcefully sent away and told that this was now 'home'.

But this wasn't home. It was painfully obvious that this wasn't Japan, nor anywhere else in the world that she could imagine it being. The names of places she caught ear of, the faces, the strange apparent political system- it was all inherently wrong. She was inclined to believe, to her dismay, that she had been stolen into a different world altogether.

Ayumi now stood amidst the bustle of people on the streets of Orlea, unmoving, unable to bring herself to process everything that was happening so suddenly. She had been ripped away from her world twice before, and after all the agonizing things she had done to make it back home- all the sacrifices that were made- how was she supposed to accept that this was happening?

No, no. There was no way she could accept this as reality. She was so tired from it all, she felt ready to break.

The unexpected hand on her shoulder suddenly tore her from those negative thoughts, back to the physical reality. Turning, she looked up at the large, unfamiliar man addressing her. Having had some very negative experiences with tall, imposing, unfamiliar men, she instinctively drew back slowly, shaking the hand from her shoulder. Every muscle in her body tensed defensively, and she eyed him with a nervous, unwavering gaze. She didn't trust him.

"..I don't know," she answered curtly. "I don't know what this place is."

Kristoph gave a slight start, not expecting to be touched so suddenly, and not particularly enjoying the sensation. But he calmed himself and forced a smile, taking a step and pulling gently on his dog's lead so that she paused and looked back at him. "It's all right, Vongole," he told her, before turning to address the stranger.

Suspicious-looking stranger or no, the same unwavering smile remained on Kristoph's face. "It's no trouble at all. This is the district of Orlea. If you're lost, perhaps I can give you directions."

"Yes, you're fine. This is a peaceful district." He took a step back, studying the other man carefully. He did note the yellow irises, but they weren't the strangest thing he'd seen here.

"I see. And what kind of information are you looking for? Is there anything I can do to assist you?" He might as well feign friendliness. There was no reason not to.

His tone was.. unusual. Ayumi didn't know how to place it. It certainly wasn't hostile, but it wasn't entirely friendly, either. Nearly void of emotion, in fact. The unusual coloration that eye, too- which Ayumi found herself fixating her gaze on- left her all the more unsure. Not knowing how to read him at all left her fairly uneasy.

But her eyes widened faintly at his words. "Kidnapped..? So that's what's happened, then?" She had assumed as much, of course, but having her own thoughts confirmed by someone else only made the reality of it all sink in deeper. This was real.

"...Yeah. I didn't ask to be here. I didn't want to." Hell, she still wasn't entirely certain where here even was. And she slowly began to realize, from the man's initial question, that he seemed somewhat lost, too.

Still guarded, she eyed him with hesitance. She needed some confirmation. "...Were you kidnapped here, too?"

"Ah yes, a way home. I believe that's something many of us are searching for. Unfortunately, I have no leads myself, or I'd share them with you."

As he was being polite, Kristoph extended his own hand to take Mikio's and gave it a shake, not too firm and not too weak. If he noted the sharp nails (and he did), he made no mention of them. He kept his other hand on Vongole's leash. The dog was now patiently sitting, watching her master.

"A pleasure, Mikio. My name is Kristoph Gavin. I think that's an admirable notion. We should cooperate as much as we can, as we share the same difficulties." Not that Kristoph truly considered his presence here a difficulty, but it wouldn't do to let people know that.

She took note of his withdrawal, and felt a slight ease of tension by that motion. And though still hesitant, the fact that he had been brought here as unwillingly as she had did spark some sympathy. Her eyes softened. It was a terrible thing, being forced into another world to fend for yourself. She wouldn't wish it on anyone, no matter who they were.

"A lot of people.." She frowned, mulling over her thoughts. This whole predicament was too painfully similar to what she had endured before. How long had this been going on, she wondered?

Ayumi curled her hands into the hem of her shirt, thinking ."I was.. at the library. Looking through records. I must have dozed off in the middle of it. I'm sure I had only been home a few days, before then."

Kristoph hesitated, then finally pulled his hand back. He had no desire to prolong contact, but at the same time, he didn't want to appear rude. It was in his best interest to appear polite, instead. His image was important to him. Yet he didn't particularly care for the growl, even though he maintained a neutral expression.

He wasn't sure about the appellation "young", but he didn't object to it. He supposed that, relatively speaking, he was still young. "Is it? It's the only name I've ever had." He gave a brief smile, as if he were joking. "I live in Orlea, yes." He's pleased he does, too. From what he's heard about the other districts, he's sure Orlea is the one he'd choose for himself. "I take walks here regularly."

Unfortunately for Mikio, he seemed to have picked the jumpiest woman in Orlea to stop because, whilst she was already thrown by his monotone, she seemed outright disturbed by its tall, hooded owner. Stuttering, she made up some excuse about being late for a meeting and hurried away, obviously terrified that he might be trying to mug her.

"You might need to work on your people skills."

The voice- familiar, playful, casually arrogant- came from just behind him. The Ninja was perched on a nearby shop awning, head to one side as if evaluating Mikio's performance and whilst he didn't seem particularly impressed, at the very least he seemed to have gotten some kind of amusement out of it. Truth be told, it was pure coincidence that led to him spotting the other man and, having noticed him wandering around about thirty minutes ago, he had decided to try and tail him for a while. After all, goodness knows what demonic incubus bug men get up to in their spare time? Well, aside from digging holes, bathing and seducing people- although he still wasn't entirely clear on that last part in regards to this particular one.

The Ninja tutted, shaking his head at him. "It's hard to believe you're as old as you say you are- how have you survived this long?"

But, in spite of his incredulity, he seemed to take pity on him because he dropped down onto the pavement beside him a few seconds later. Now that he was a little closer, it didn't take a genius to figure out the cause of Mikio's difficulties in navigating the veritable quagmire of social niceties; he looks like a damned thug dressed like that.

"Let's just say that your approach needs work," he answered, "You can be a little... well... creepy."

Let no one say that he wasn't honest.
