And it's so easy when you're evil
Who: Kirei Kotomine and Assassin (
smallskull).
What: Kirei and his Servant Assassin have been stalking a native for some time. But the man's entertainment value is dwindling, and now it's time for them to get rid of him.
Where: Orlea, in the home of their victim.
When: Today.
Warnings: Kirei is a sadistic murderer, and this log will contain blood and violence and graphic descriptions of murder.
It hadn't been difficult, any of it. They had selected him at random, followed him, had become familiar with all aspects of his life. They had ruined his life by degrees. Bit by bit. They had destroyed things that mattered to him. They had made him doubt his sanity. They had ruined his relationships with others. It was amusing, how easy it was to disassemble that collection of objects, events, and interactions that people considered "a life".
Most people weren't difficult to track, to study. Most people weren't difficult to destroy, to kill. It was all in how you did it, as far as Kirei was concerned. The death should be optimized so as to bring about the most suffering. The most pleasure, as far as he was concerned. He had to keep himself occupied here in some way.
Now it was almost over. The man was bound to one of his chairs, gagged, silent, although his eyes were open, watching Kirei. Kirei smiled, meeting his gaze. People were at their best when things were at their worst. It was heartening, to watch them struggle, to watch them strive, even when there was no hope left.
"Again," he told Assassin, meaning that she should use her blade again. Where a weapon was concerned, he had no real preference, but a knife suited his purposes well enough, for now. He remembered the fire. The scent of burning flesh, the screams of the dying... "Not too deep. Just a shallow cut." He didn't want this to be over too quickly. He enjoyed watching her attack. The fact that she looked like a child only added to his amusement.

When the tip of her knife touched their victim's throat, it wasn't with enough pressure to draw blood—just enough to elicit a panicked attempt to draw away from the contact, despite his restricted movement. It must have looked funny, she decided. Kirei had told her just a shallow cut, so of course she wouldn't have done something like slit his throat, and yet the touch of metal evoked that response anyway. Blade grazing up the line of his neck, she only stopped when she reached his jaw. It took no effort at all to slice from below his ear almost to his nose, the action matter-of-fact and not too deep, just like he asked.

Kirei watched her work. He laughed at her choice and at the man's reaction to her cut. "Well done." A superficial cut, enough to draw blood, but not enough to endanger him in any way. Not that he isn't in danger.
There was no hope for him now. He couldn't know how the end would come, but he saw it before him. Kirei could see it in his eyes, that realization. It was an enjoyable sight. He couldn't believe there was a time, quite recently, before he'd realized that this was what brought him pleasure.
For the moment, he took the knife from Assassin, passing the point of it over the man's cheek, near to where she'd cut. "And what do you think we should do next? What would cause the most pain?" He pulled the knife back suddenly and slapped the man's face, his hand striking just where the cut was so recently made. And then there was blood on his hand, and he laughed again.

"Um..." She hummed as she considered Kirei's question. This kind of thing wasn't her specialty, but neither was killing to begin with. That didn't mean she shouldn't fulfill his orders and answer his questions as best she could. "The next thing would be to cut off parts of the outside, right? Like his fingers, or his ears... Even his eyes, but I guess we should work up to that."
I am the latest murderer
He handed Assassin back the knife. He didn't need it, though he had taken it simply because it amused him to use the child's knife. The fact that the child had a knife in the first place was a source of amusement on its own. Now, he summoned one of his Black Keys instead. He preferred working with them.
He nodded at Assassin's suggestion. "A finger, yes. I think that would be a good start. We can take them joint by joint." The man tried to scream, but the gag muffled the sound, and Kirei smiled as he cut down into the man's smallest finger, removing its first joint with ease. "Why don't you take one as well, Assassin?"
