It's RAINING MEN!
Who: Kodachi Kuno, The Ninja, and YOU(???)
What: Who Wants to be a Fiance! Kodachi Kuno is looking for three potential suitors willing to chase after her and fight each other for her affection; though chances are it will end up with her chasing after them. Set-up post is here.
Where: Uh.. Highcrest Square, Highcrest.
When: April 28th 12-3
Extra: If you're OOCly interested in being stalked by a crazy gymnast but your character (obviously) isn't; feel free to have them wander by just to be in awe at how many people are willing to feed Kodachi's ego (not her player's, honest. orz) or whatever. Also if you're OOCly not interested either, come anyway for the tasty CR, yum yum.
Kodachi doesn't practice the art of subtlety. Despite having started with limited resources, she's managed to create a fairly impressive backdrop for her event that, let's face it, is of pure self-gratification.
A wide, white pole marquee resides in the the Square's center, which is set up to replicate a King's throne room with moderate success. The material isn't very expensive, but the presentation is much greater than perhaps one would expect from the citizens of this area could provide.
A lengthy, red carpet extends from the entrance to the stand where Kodachi's chair, covered in silk, resides. The Black Rose herself resides upon it adorn in a black, partially-armored bodysuit.
A full-fledged ninja stands by her side; presumably her bodyguard, as he's been assigned to throw anyone who hopes to spoil her fun out- but something may tell him he's been stationed there mainly to watch her show off.
The way it was supposed to go is that the potentials were to be sent to the left of the room and the rejects to the right exit, but thus far a good fifteen people have been sent right on out due to her being picky; and there are still forty citizens neatly lined up in a zig-zag, most seeming eager to be rated by her and/or get a closer look at her form-fitting attire.
Not even three seconds pass when the next person comes in before she replies, "D Minus; be on your way." with a dismissive wave of her hand. Afterward she sighs, with her chin slumped into her palm. "Somehow I was hoping this would be more interesting.. Is it truly so difficult to find a B or two about in this crowd? Who's next?"

When a long line of men comes into sight, he can't help but walk closer to see what the fuss is all about. It doesn't take him long to see what it is; an armor-clad girl sitting under a marquee and... rating men apparently? That's what it seems like she's doing, at least. Hinata can't comprehend why there's such a large crowd just for this - it seems stupid to him. He loses interest in the whole thing pretty quickly and starts moving again, hoping that he won't be noticed.
no subject
So when he looks her way, her brows raise in intrigue, then an inviting smile is given in return. In fact, she even gestures for him to come closer but.. What's this? He dares lose interest??
"Why that little.." The insulted Kodachi Kuno gets to her feet, with a half pink, half white gymnastics ball in hand. She winds up, then lobs it with frightening precision-it weaves from side to side, barely grazing other awed bystanders, and toward the back of Hinata's head.
Should she be lucky and it hit, the impact is fairly similar to being hit in the head by a sponge filled with water.
"Oh dear, I do appear to have misplaced my ball! Has anyone seen it?"
no subject
But when he hears the girl speak up, it becomes pretty clear that it's hers, and it's highly likely that she threw the ball at him on purpose. This revelation only serves to piss Hinata off even more. He could take the immature route and just throw it right back at her, but her ninja friend probably won't appreciate that, plus he's a better person than that, anyway. So he'll approach once more and walk directly up to Kodachi, holding the ball out to her.
"Here."
no subject
With a sweet smile, she accepts the ball then bows deeply in appreciation, "Thank you very much, kind sir. This is my favorite ball; I simply don't know what I would have done if I had lost it forever.. I am truly grateful."
Once she stands, she flutters her eyelashes. "My name is Kodachi Kuno.. And what might the name of my chivalrous company be?"
no subject
Having an adjective like "chivalrous" be applied to him makes Hinata a bit flustered. "I, uh... I'm Hajime Hinata."
no subject
He has her full attention when he speaks, which she responds with a nod of her head, "A pleasure to meet you, Mister Hajime. Hinata translates to 'toward the sun', does it not?" her cheeks pinken as her gaze shifts a little to the side while she fidgets with her ball. "How curious. Surely it would not suggest that.. The person you are facing.. Would be your sunshine. That would be a little much, yes?"
no subject
Hinata briefly takes another look at the crowd, which doesn't appear to have grown any smaller. He probably shouldn't stick around for too much longer, since he's kind of holding up the line and he has no intention of participating in this thing, but while he's here he might as well ask.
"So, anyway, what exactly is this... event for?" Since he just arrived here today, he never saw the network post about it.
no subject
"Oh! I'm so glad you asked!" the gymnast replies as her eyes light up, "You see, I am looking for potential suitors, fiances if you will, for myself. By the end of the day I am hoping to obtain three potential candidates."
She then gestures outward toward the long line, "As you can see, all of these young men have gathered in hopes of being one of the lucky three!" ... "Unfortunately for them, it would appear superior competition has arrived. The ball.. Is in your court." and she tosses the ball back to him.
no subject
"Sorry, but I'd rather not take part in this competition. I don't think I'd be a suitable candidate, and honestly, I'm not ready to settle down yet, anyway. There are still a lot of things I need to figure out before I can even start thinking about marriage." Like what the hell he's going to do with himself here. Since he apparently has to spend the rest of his life here, he needs to figure out a game plan. It would help quite a bit if he could remember his special talent that got him into Hope's Peak Academy, but unfortunately, being whisked away from those cursed islands hasn't done anything to help his memory.
There's also the fact that he doesn't even really know Kodachi and he sure as hell doesn't want to be a suitor for a girl he just met, even if she is pretty, but he's not going to say that out loud. That would probably be too harsh.
Hinata steps back a bit, preparing himself to leave. "I hope you manage to find your three candidates, though."
no subject
"You're right, it wouldn't be fair to drag you in withouth the proper information," Kodachi says, elbow propped in her opposite palm as she taps her cheek. "But you don't have to worry; I need three handsome men whom possess great courage and strength. They must be neat and possess ambitions of grandeur. Then all four of you may fight one another for my affections. I am, of course, ready to prove myself to be an exemplary bride. My skill is unmatched."
As Hinata steps back, Kodachi steps forward, having no problem getting into his personal space and her smile almost unnerving.
"This is a very rare opportunity. I dare say it would be... Foolish, even, to turn down such a chance, my dear. Tell me why you don't think you'd be suitable."
no subject
"I don't meet any of your qualifications, and my previous point still stands. I'm not interested, and that's that." Now that he's tried the more blunt answer, Hinata is going to try and make a swift exit now, not even waiting for a response this time.
no subject
The gymnast swiftly moves to catch up with the student, to try and take his arm while flashing an apologetic smile, "I believe there is some sort of.. Small misunderstanding? Perhaps my words were a bit aggressive; but I am certain if you and I were to participate in an afternoon activity, such as a picnic, you would see our potential for certain! Please reconsider!"
no subject
"I'm sorry, but nothing's going to change my mind." And with that, he tries to free his arm from her grasp so he can make yet another attempt at leaving.
no subject
"I.. I understand.. So you hate me now.. I have brought shame upon the House of Kuno." she murmurs. She reaches behind herself to withdraw a dagger with a black handle which she holds out in front of her blade facing herself. "As punishment for the dishonor and shame I have brought upon my ancestors, I hereby sentence myself to death as per tradition of my family!"
The Black Rose raises the blade into the air..!
no subject
"Look, I never said that I hated you! I just don't want to marry you!" He does think that she's really strange and kind of annoying, but hate is probably too strong of a word. There's only one person that he feels true hatred for. ...Well, maybe two. But neither of them are in Mallow Hallow as far as he knows so that doesn't really matter.
no subject
It seems his words sink in, though, when they slowly open and her cheeks redden. "Is.. That true? Then.. I have made a grevious error." She raises her hand to rest atop his, and the other drops her blade. "Yes. What you say must be true because you.. Have saved my life!"
"Thank you, Mister Hajime. I am in your debt."
