[ come one come all ]

Who: Everyone and everyone!
What: A party to break everyone into mallowhallow and get them mingling
Where: Orlea
When: March 4th

[ you might have gotten a nice little text message in your communication device, telling you to come party in Orlea. There's all types of alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks, and a mixture of foods to snack on. the music is also pulsing and loud enough to get you wanting to dance.

the party will go on all night till the morning, so bring a date or just bring yourself ]

Can I guess? Social awkwardness or still the shock of the whole situation? Or a combination of both?

[Primo eyes the other man as if he was some sort of riddle or puzzle to be cracked, an eyebrow raised at the shaking cup.]
blueeyedflyboy: (hmm...)

[personal profile] blueeyedflyboy 2013-03-04 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, actually, he'd rather you not guess, but okay. That's fine too. Balfour just shrugs and shakes his head.]

Culture shock.

[Sounds perfectly legitimate, yes?]

Ah, right. I always forget that one.

[Primo smiles a bit as he drinks from his own drink.]

Not the party type you're used to, I take?
blueeyedflyboy: (smile)

[personal profile] blueeyedflyboy 2013-03-04 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
This is not the type of party I'm accustomed to.

[He turns and smiles prettily at the man.]

Much more crowded and much more relaxed.
promotedpawn: (003 - A kind of pale jewel)

[personal profile] promotedpawn 2013-03-05 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, I'm not sure if you have only gone to formal parties with etiquette, or that what you consider a party isn't really worth called "party". It has been a long while since I was in a party of this style, but I like to think that even the formal parties I organized were very relaxed.

[He pauses looking at his drink and then side eying the speakers.]

I could do with music a bit lower though.

I have mainly been to formal parties, either organized by my family, family friends, or the Esar, himself. They were all insufferably boring; I never did like that scene much.
promotedpawn: (015 - But I'll be there for you)

[personal profile] promotedpawn 2013-03-16 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Then you sill feel at home here, won't you? Boring is the last thing I would call those parties, give it time and some alcohol and it will get even wilder most probably.
blueeyedflyboy: (nervous)

[personal profile] blueeyedflyboy 2013-03-16 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, it's not quite like that...

[Perhaps the parties at home weren't boring to everyone else, but when there was a lack of desirable dance partners and more mothers trying to marry off their girls than anything else, well...]

I'm not quite used to parties like this, either. I'd much rather find a book, but...

[Experience said that bringing out a book around alcohol was just asking for it to be ruined or destroyed.]
poromtedpawn: (024 - Though we're strangers 'til now)

[personal profile] poromtedpawn 2013-03-17 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[Primo chuckles.]

I would advice you against that, though I doubt you need it. Bringing a book to a party like this is only asking to be bothered forever and have the book ending ruined. Though if what you want is to get people's attention then it is a good strategy.
blueeyedflyboy: (hmm...)

[personal profile] blueeyedflyboy 2013-03-19 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I know better anyway. Back home, bringing out a book at such events was just cue for the others to destroy it, no matter what it was.

Did the people in your parties not have much love for literature? You made it sound as if the sight of a book would put them in a book-destroyer mood.
blueeyedflyboy: (shrug)

[personal profile] blueeyedflyboy 2013-03-20 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, not so much that as many of my colleagues weren't...very nice people. Or at least great appreciators of literature. Usually, they were more interested in acquiring more paper for our papier-mache bust named Madeline, be that books or newspapers.

[At least no one was foolish enough to use Ivory's sheet music.]
promotedpawn: (014 - Wasn't too much fun at all)

[personal profile] promotedpawn 2013-03-24 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, that still sounds close to them getting into a book-destroyer mood, just less dramatic and exaggerated. Was Madeline a group project or something like that?
blueeyedflyboy: (shrug)

[personal profile] blueeyedflyboy 2013-03-27 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, in a way. She started out as a model of our city, but someone put boobs on it, so it became our mascot of sorts.

How original.

[Not really, but it's still amusing judging by his tone.]

So, why did you came to the party if they aren't much of your thing in the first place? If it's okay to ask, that is.
blueeyedflyboy: (embarassed)

[personal profile] blueeyedflyboy 2013-03-29 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah... Tyler invited me...

[And considering how well they were getting along, it would have been rude to not accept.]
promotedpawn: (005 - I'll place the sky within your eye)

[personal profile] promotedpawn 2013-04-05 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll assume you mean he invited you personally and before he invited the rest of the village-... I mean, the rest of the people trapped here.

[The slip annoys and amuses him equally, falling back to old habits so soon?]

It's quite nice of you to accept the invitation either way.
blueeyedflyboy: (smile)

[personal profile] blueeyedflyboy 2013-04-12 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I suppose. It's not often that I am invited...personally, anyway.

[He smiles uncomfortably.]
