A little lack of sanity [Open]
Who: Calum and YOU!
What: There's a purple cat wandering around the districts
When: June 19th
Where: Various districts
Warnings: None yet!
[Mallowhallow]
[Pillows, pillows everywhere. Of course, that means there's a dark purple British shorthair cat napping on the sidewalk. Yes, just in the middle of the sidewalk. He's a cat; people are expected to move around him, not the other way around. Just don't step on his tail.]
[Orlea]
[Now awake and mobile, the same cat can be found prowling along the streets, hopping up onto shop windowsills to peer inside, and of course, looking for any food that's free for the taking. Or easy enough to steal. Beware catching his attention, or else there will be a cat following you trying to mooch free food with sad looks.]
[Astralfield]
[Here, Calum can be found chasing butterflies, repeatedly trying to pounce on them only to miss as they flutter out of reach again. He might be easy to miss at first, low to the ground as he is while he stalks his prey, but the purple tail swishing through the air before he pounces will give away his position.]
[Whitewood]
[He might have been bugging the fairies. He might have accidentally pissed them off and gotten chased away by them. He might be sitting on the steps of a building cleaning twigs and leaves out of his fur before taking care of some...obvious but extremely mild battle wounds. As if there had been any battle, and not just him running away as quick as he could.]

[action]
He may be making a bit of a mess. After all, he can't really see what he's doing. He stares out at the road blankly.]

He made his way over quickly but cautiously-he didn't want to scare anyone, after all-and then sat down a few feet away from Balfour. The moment he got a good look at him, well, he knew things were going to be interesting, to say the least.
For now though, all he did was meow.]
no subject
Hello? Who's there?
no subject
no subject
[He turned and tilted his head in the direction the meow came from, offering the backs of his fingers to be sniffed.]
Do you like pork?
[He scratches Calum's ears after his fingers are sniffed, then reaches for a bit of pork, offering it up.]
Amery won't like that I'm sharing, but I don't mind.
no subject
Yes, he would like something to eat, and yes he liked pork. He meowed to say as much. He took the pork very daintily, mindful of Balfour's fingers, and then devoured it.]
no subject
[He smiles and carefully places another piece of pork beside Calum, the back of his hand rubbing against soft fur, and then steadies his plate to continue eating.]
Do you like vegetables? I have a salad here, too, if you want some. I think there might even be some cheese.
no subject
Ew, vegetables? No thank you. He mewed again when Balfour mentioned cheese though. Cheese wasn't so bad.]
no subject
[So here, have a plate with about a handful of salad (and cheese) and some meat still left. He couldn't exactly resist feeding cute cats.
But only if you'll let him pet you. Which consists of awkward patting before he finds your back, sorry Cal.]
no subject
So long as he wasn't poked in the face, he didn't even mind Balfour blindly trying to find his back. Calum made sure to stand still, even, to make it easier for him.
At this rate, Balfour might never manage to get rid of Calum.]
no subject
Especially now that he couldn't see anything.]
no subject
Purring, he rubbed his face against Balfour's knee, showing his appreciation for the free food.]
no subject
You're welcome. You're very good company, you know that? But then, I think anyone would be good company if all you've had for company lately is your surly brother.
[Hah, take that if you're listening, Amery! :P]
Then again, he has good reason.
no subject
Mmmm, family is important though. I'm sure he cares.
[He had no qualms about suddenly talking, even if he was still a cat.]
no subject
I'm sure he does, too.
[As if nothing out of the ordinary had happened. After all, he was used to a talking metal dragon. What was different about a talking cat?]
Still, he can be a bit of a handful.
[Action, Astralfield]

With one last, longingly look at the butterflies, Calum looked around the area. He perked up a bit when he spotted Victor, and meowed as if to say hello.]
no subject
Hello there. You're a bit of an unusual color for a kitty.
[Then again, with all the dreams wandering about, he's used to animals in unusual colors by now.]
no subject
Of course he was an unusual color! He meowed again, though had no real way of conveying the reason why, unless he wanted to reveal that he was not just an oddly colored cat.]
no subject
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Purple cats are hardly the most baffling things one can see in Astralfield.

You're a lovely little creature though. Normally I'm a bit more of a dog person, but it was very fun watching you with the butterflies.
no subject
Until Victor mentioned dogs. Then Calum sort of scrunched his face up. Ew, dogs. More like, he was absolutely terrified of them. He could forget that dog comment though, considering the compliment.]
Cats are better than dogs.
[Why yes, yes he did just talk.]
no subject
After all you've seen here, a talking cat throws you off guard?
[He shakes his head again and looks back at Calum.]
You'll have to forgive my bias -- I grew up with a pet dog as my best friend.
no subject
Most people I meet tend to be dog people. It's simply a thing, as a cat, you know? Dogs don't generally like cats very much, so I don't generally like them very much.
no subject
Understandable, yes. If it helps, I've nothing against cats -- my father owned a fish cannery and a fish shop in town, so I was accustomed to seeing strays lurking in nearby alleyways around his work. Scraps barked at them occasionally, but never anything more.
I suppose I should introduce myself, given the circumstances -- Victor Van Dort.
no subject
[Fish, that sounded lovely right about now. Too bad it was only a conversation topic.]
Calum Balica, though most people usually just call me Cheshire. Whichever you prefer, really. It's a pleasure to meet you.
no subject
Cheshire?
[Another moment's pause, then, under his breath:]
The universe enjoys taunting me, I'm certain of it now. . .
[And then actually to Calum:]
Excuse me, it's just -- I know of another Cheshire, though only indirectly. Through an old friend. It's very nice to meet you too.
no subject
[A Cheshire wasn't exactly the most well liked creature in Wonderland, after all, and Calum especially had managed to make a number of enemies, he was sure.]
I wouldn't have guessed that you were from Wonderland, though.
no subject
[It's highly doubtful that Calum's Wonderland was nearly destroyed by an Infernal Train, for example.]
There's also someone who claims to be the Dormouse somewhere about. Though again, his world might not be the same as yours.

Seeming to appear out of nowhere, the purple cat followed along next to Mituna and meowed at him.]
no subject
[Mituna spins around on the soles of his feet, looking everywhere the cat isn't.]
