[The same thought is running through Phil's mind in regards to Loki, honestly]

I try. How did it go?

I shall have to let you know when I finish.

[And waking up in this place definitely put a screeching halt to his plans for Earth.]

Looks like I have reason to thank Queenie now.

[hisoldtricks]

Do you, now?

[That would be a menacing smile on the God of Mischief's face. After all they were alone at present.]

[threateningflour]

[he can't help the slight flinch - the memory of the stabbing flashes through his mind, but he pushes that back and smooths over his thoughts again]

I do.

[he stares back at him evenly. There's nothing Loki gains from stabbing him again, that's what he hopes anyway]

[Certainly he had nothing to gain by killing the man again. Thor and his group of mortal misfits were not present to see him do it. Though that didn't mean he couldn't still do horrible things to the mortal, that were not necessarily life threatening.]

You're brave. I shall give you that.

[Even Loki could concede that, despite the bad taste it left in his mouth to acknowledge any strengths that a human might have.]

I do what's needed. Nothing more.

And apparently modest too.

[he never liked getting compliments. Getting two from Loki even less so. But he didn't make it as Fury's right hand man without dealing with a lot of situations he didn't like]

I prefer pragmatic.

[hisoldtricks]

And how do you intend to use that to your advantage at present?

[Yes, that is a veiled threat, but Loki knows the agent is smart enough to figure that out.]

[threateningflour]

[he arcs his eyebrows]

Not provoke you more than necessary.

[hisoldtricks]

A rather smart idea in theory, but one that may not go to plan.

[Another menacing grin? Yes, indeed.]

[threateningflour]

I'm not playing your game, Loki.

[hisoldtricks]

You say that as if you have a choice.

[threateningflour]

[Opts to stare at him flatly, not answering and not taking the bait]

[hisoldtricks]

[One of Loki's doubles suddenly appears behind the agent and whispers:]

For the record, you do not.

[threateningflour]

[He expects that to happen since the threats started but he can't help the startled gasp and the pounding in his chest when Loki appears behind him. His training allows his body to move regardless of his thoughts; he side steps, keeping both the doubles in his sight as his weapon is drawn and trained on the double who was behind him. His eyes narrow but the damage is already done; his hands are trembling just slightly and it's enough to annoy him.]

[hisoldtricks]

[Both Lokis laugh as they were expecting he wasn't as calm as he was trying to let on.]

So much for not playing my game.

[threateningflour]

[He lowers his weapon, forcing himself to take slow, deep, even breaths]

You'll get bored eventually.

[hisoldtricks]

Are you so certain about that?

[Just because he can, two more clones of Loki appear, blocking off the path behind Coulson.]

[threateningflour]

[he stiffens but his reaction isn't as large this time. He just stills and keeps all of them in the corner of his eyes]

I've dealt with worse.

[It's a lie but there were comparable incidents in his life. He can definitely learn to handle Loki]
