[O p e n]
Who: Luna and her dragon
What: Just hanging out
Where: Crystalden
When: March 29th
Warnings: None so far
[Luna had spent most of her time here so far exploring Crystalden-not only because it was kind of confusing, but also because it reminded her a lot of Crellund, the city she lived in back home. Some things were different though, like the people and the way they dressed. She doubted she would ever decide she wanted to wear something bright and flashy like that. Jean shorts and tank tops for her, simple things. And her father's dogtags around her neck, of course.
The people in Crystalden didn't seem to think too highly of her dragon either-she'd seen quite a few dirty or suspicious looks sent Bahamut's way, but so long as no one made an issue out of it, she didn't really care. At the moment, she was content to sit on a bench outside of a cafe, finishing up a sandwich she had got, while Bahamut sat curled up next to her, watching the people as they passed them by. Maybe there was something she could do here after she was done exploring-however long that was going to take-and started to get bored. Back home she'd been recently working in a cafe as a waitress. Maybe she could do that here, too. Thinking about that though reminded her of just how much she missed her family-especially her brothers, despite all of the trouble they gave her-and sighed a little, reaching over to pet Bahamut, who nuzzled against her hand the way a cat would.]

[The man asking the question was dressed like a surgeon - except he was also wearing crazy goggles with silver swirls on the lenses. Comic-book style x-ray glasses. He sounded partway between curious and disbelieving.]
no subject
Yes, he's a dragon. He's somewhat smaller than most people expect, but that's just the way he is.
[Bahamut knew he was being talked about, but didn't react in any way except to snort a few sparks from his nostrils, lazily.]
no subject
[Insano observed with a vague wave of his hand.]
You're not dressed like the locals. You've been taken from some other world? A fantasy world with energy crystals, perhaps?
no subject
I- [Well, she's not sure she'd call it a fantasy world, since everything there is completely normal for her, and they don't exactly have energy crystals, but...] Actually, everything back home runs on magic. It's not quite energy crystals.
no subject
[He fusses with his labcoat before sitting down.]
What is unknown is magical until you know exactly what it does and why it exists!
no subject
Magic and science exist side by side back home. [The magic itself, and then the scientific ways it was used, in technology.]
no subject
[He leans forward as if conspiring.]
Have you ever had a use for an anti-magic field generator?
no subject
[Better yet, what even is this conversation.]
no subject
An anti-magic field generator. It is what I am going to use to take over this world!
no subject
Why do you want to take over this place?
no subject
[That's reason enough in his way of thinking.]
no subject
[She's vaguely amused-not even worried, but plenty curious.]

[She tilts her head a little, considering this.]
I've seen kindness prevent a lot of people from getting hurt before.

Besides, rulers who rule harshly are always the ones people want to overthrow and kill. The kind ones gain the respect and support of the people.
no subject
[He does look thoughtful for a moment.]
Perhaps you have a point.
[His eyes wander over to Bahamut.]
I don't suppose you have more than one dragon, do you?
no subject
[She smiles a little and shakes her head.]
No; he's the only one I have.

no subject
[And the idea sounds kind of familiar, where has she heard that before :|]
But wouldn't it be hard to accomplish?
no subject
[Yes, that's his answer to everything.]

[Terezi had caught the distinctive scent as she'd been crossing the street. With little care for other pedestrian's feet, shins, or ribs, the blind troll girl shoved her way eagerly through the crowd, using her sharp elbows and red-and-white blind man's cane liberally to clear herself a path. She stopped in front of them.]
[A small, slender teenager, Terezi was human-shaped, but her skin was grey, her nails were sharp pumpkin-yellow claws, and her teeth were a collection of sharp predatory fangs. From her short black hair rose a pair of candy-coloured horns, tapering to slim points. Behind her red-lensed glasses, her eyes were a burnt-out-red, blind and unseeing. She sniffed again, and smiled, black lips framing a cheerful piranha grin.]
[Heedless of any danger, Terezi dropped to a crouch to better address the dragon.]
Hello there, little dragon!
no subject
Bahamut on the other hand, is very confused. Of course being a dragon he really doesn't care one way or the other what someone looks like, but people back home never really tried to talk to him this much. Not like people have done here. He can understand well enough, but he certainly can't talk back. So he just stares. And blinks.
Luna answers, at least.]
Hello! He can't talk, but he can generally understand what people are saying most of the time.
[She's sure because Bahamut acts indignant whenever someone says something bad about him.]
no subject
Is he your guardian? Or are you his?
no subject
Mmm, he's mine, really. My mother gave him to me when I was very young, and since then I've grown up with him. [Of course there have been some times when Luna had to protect Bahamut, but usually it's the other way around.]
His name's Bahamut, by the way, and I'm Lunamaria.
no subject
[Terezi sounds out the name with care, then grins and reaches further to pat the dragon on the nose, a very gentle touch at odds with her enthusiasm.]
I am Terezi! It's nice to meet you both.
no subject
[Bahamut was still a little suspicious, eyeing up Terezi, but then relaxed, bumping his nose against her hand. Yes, pets, pats, any sort of attention like that, he likes it.]
Uhm...I don't mean to be rude, and I hope I don't offend you by asking this, but what are you? [She was just too curious not to ask.]
no subject
[Terezi grinned brightly up at Luna, and patted the dragon easily, gently using her claws to scratch behind the angles of jaws and all those hard-to-reach places that might be itchy. The smell of dragon was delightfully familiar. It made her miss her lusus again, in a little tiny ache.]
no subject
[Or ever heard anything about them.
And Terezi is now essentially Bahamut's best friend, for as long as there is scratching. He can't exactly purr like a cat, but he's making a low rumble sound that's pretty close to a purr, and it means he's happy.]
Are you from another world?
no subject
[Terezi beams at the happy grumble the dragon is making. She shifts and sits right down on the sidewalk, cane across her lap, with no intentions of going anywhere anytime soon. She continues scratching.]
It's in a different star system than your human planet Earth.
[Terezi is assuming all humans are from planet Earth. She's not quite got her head around the idea that not every human is from Earth. Inhuman things, certainly, but in her experience, Earth is where there are humans.]
no subject
Earth? [She tilts her head to the side a little, puzzled.] I've never heard of that planet before. I'm from Ziemia, though. It's a lovely place. [Well, mostly.]
no subject
[Terezi grins brightly, eagerly at Luna, and scoots closer to sit beside Bahamut, still idly scratching scaly skin with her sharp claws.]
