[Open] I believe I can fly
Who: Reid Garwin and ANYONE!
What: Reid's discovered he can fly. Oh god. He's already abusing that power.
Where: All over Orlea
When: Today, April 7th
Warnings: Language, possibly
[Guess who woke up today and discovered that he can fly? This guy right here. Yup. And he doesn't even have to Use his own Power to do it. He doesn't know why and he doesn't know how, but hell if he's going to question it. And to think just a while ago he'd been talking about flying with Balfour and not being sure if he could do that on his own. Well, look at him now. He's taking advantage of this because who knows how long it'll last.
With that in mind, Reid is flying all over the place. Up around the tops of buildings and trees, low closer to the ground, whatever he feels like doing at any given time. Now, if only there was someone around for him tobug the shit out of share his joy with. Seriously, flying is fun, but it loses a little something without someone around to appreciate the flying.]

Bother bother.]

Speaking of seeing, oh look, a Balfour. With a grin, Reid swoops on down behind him, Using just a little for added finesse to hover behind him as he covers Balfour's eyes.]
Guess who.
no subject
He jumps when those hands go over his eyes, but then laughs at the voice, leaning back against him.
Oh, and guess what's following him? A large pillow. Fwomp, don't mind it batting you on the head there, Reid.]
You're so mean!
[Only not. He's laughing.]
no subject
Reid actually, you know, moves to stand on the ground behind him instead of floating there now, and laughs when the pillow hits him.]
What is that? And I know I am, but you love it.
no subject
And now that Reid's on solid ground, Balfour backs up against him completely and turns his head to kiss his cheek.]
One of the pillows from my floor. I figured out I could move them and I wanted to show you.
[Yeah that pillow's crowding in on Reid, too, and now it's almost like they're laying vertically against a soft something.]
Can you imagine how useful this talent can be?
[Waggling eyebrows? What wagglign eyebrows?]
no subject
[Actually that whole moving (living?) pillow thing is kind of creeping him out a little. Pillows shouldn't move like that, it's weird.]
Right, because everyone wants to do it on moving pillows. [At least, that's the first thing that comes to his mind...]
no subject
It moves at my will. If you want it to stay still, I can make it stay still.
[Like right now, because it was essentially acting as a soft wall right now.]
no subject
You know that's kind of what it's like being a warlock. Only instead of moving pillows it's whatever you want.
Speaking of, I seem to remember that we were talking about flying once.
no subject
[Well then having Reid's powers would be fun.]
See, it's more like having a Talent back home. You had one thing you could do, maybe two if you were really lucky.
[And inbred]But that was rare.[He crowds up closer, arms going on either side of Reid's head.]
We were. Would you like to make good on that offer? I can even guard us to keep us from getting hurt.
[See, that's a good thing about having a pillow following him around, though he regrets, briefly, only having brought one.]
no subject
Psh. We can do anything. [Almost anything.
His smirk coupled with wide, innocent eyes probably makes him look...not remotely innocent at all. Especially not when he rests his hands on Balfour's hips, pulling him a little closer.]
I would. And please, the only protection we need is my arms around you.
no subject
When he speaks, it's a whisper.]
Well, what's stopping you now?
no subject
[Except no, Balfour, you're getting carried. So, don't mind Reid's eyes as they turn black-he needs the boost in strength-or when he just sweeps Balfour off of his feet, quite literally, to carry him bridal style.
Because this is totally Superman style, shut up.]Let's hit the skies then, Lois. [And into the air they go!]
no subject
[He doesn't get the reference, though he does snuggle in quite happily and lay his head on Reid's shoulder. And then he's laughing as they're flying, arms tight around his neck. He doesn't want to fall.]
Who's Lois?
no subject
[That they're from different worlds and there probably isn't Superman or any comics wherever it was Balfour's from again.
He laughs, taking them straight up until they're over the trees and the buildings, then he just kind of drifts along, this way and that.]
Lois Lane, Superman's sweetheart. He's a comic book superhero, the Man of Steel. One of his powers is flight, so that kind of makes me Superman right now.
[Oh. There's kind of a double meaning in there, isn't there? One that Reid hadn't even intended. If he's Superman and Balfour is Lois, it could be taken to mean that he's saying Balfour's his sweetheart. Which is something that Reid would never say-at least, not in those exact words. Sounds too soft. Doesn't mean it's not true, though.]
no subject
[And he catches on to the double meaning. It makes him smile and kiss Reid's jaw gently. He didn't mind being his sweetheart, even if he was only a temporary replacement for something better.]
This is nice. Not as nice as flying on Anastasia, no offense, but it is nice. I have missed flying.
no subject
No offense taken. I'm not exactly a perfect replacement for a dragon after all.
I bet I'm hotter though, at least.
no subject
[He laughs softly, clearly teasing, taking 'hot' literally instead of as a measurement of attractiveness.]
no subject
I can do a lot of things a dragon can't though. [Yeah, he's playfully teasing, but there's an innuendo in there too.]
no subject
[He backs away and pats Reid gently on the cheek, giving him a little smile, as if saying 'good puppy.']
no subject
I give good back rubs, and I can cook.
[No, no he can't :| Boy manages to burn water. Don't let him near a kitchen unless you want the house burned down.]
no subject
[He smiles, sliding up against Reid, kissing his cheek.]<
no subject
[He laughs, smiling.]
no subject
Hi there.
[She's behind his shoulder, grinning. It's daytime, so she's not bioluminescent like the first time she met Reid—grey skin and white eyes, this time.]
no subject
[He didn't recognize her by voice, but as soon as he'd turned around-yeah, it was hard to forget that face. Reid grinned.]
Well hello. Imagine seeing you up here. Great day for flying, isn't it?
no subject
Lovely. Enjoying your newfound freedom?
no subject
[He grinned still and shrugged, stretching his arms over his head.] Never could exactly fly before.
no subject
[Her voice is mild, teasing.] A few of my friends could. It was never my lot to reach that level, however, so this is a nice change of pace.
no subject
We mostly just levitated back home.
[Well, and a bit here, but only once. He could say that without totally spilling their secret, right? Yeah.]
no subject
[She gives him a look, and it's almost a challenge.]
But then, maybe you're not normal.
no subject
There isn't really anything normal about me.
[There were plenty of things, actually, but it sounded better that way, you know?]
no subject
I've found that's true of most people, no matter how much they think otherwise. For example, me.
[She laughs.]
I might like to think I'm normal, but I'm an alien vampire ghost.
no subject
It's unique. You're probably the only person like that I'll ever meet.
[He smiled and oh so casually spun around to float upside-down, shoving his hands in his jacket pockets to hold it in place.]
no subject
I should hope so. I don't think all of them would be as nice as me. [There's a glint of teeth, to drive her point home, but she's mostly joking. Her kind, at least, would never feed without permission.]
no subject
I bet you're the most beautiful of them all, too.
no subject
I bet you say that to all the alien girls.
no subject
[At this rate he was never going to stop grinning.]
no subject
[She's teasing, now, but she's enjoying it. Even if it's a bit weird, flirting mid-air.]
no subject
[No he hasn't, and his face says as much.
Floating around in mid-air was definitely the oddest place he'd ever flirted with anyone before, but it was also kinda nice. Relaxed.]
no subject
[She leaves it at that but pulls herself into an upright position, almost as if she were sitting in a chair.]
So why is it do you think we're suddenly able to fly? Seems like a strange power to grant to people who are supposed to be trapped.
no subject
[He shrugged, flipping back around to float right side up because he was starting to get dizzy upside-down.]
Probably means we couldn't even fly outta here, though.
no subject
I doubt the Queen would let us have even the slimmest chance of escaping. Not that I'd know what to do once I did.
no subject
And after the things I've been told here, I'm not even sure what would be waiting for me back home. [Would he go back to the last thing he remembered, would it be more like what Pogue remembered, or what Tyler had told him. And then there was Chase... Thinking about it was kind of headache worthy.]
