My lil bro has a friend by that name. So, what colors do troll blood come in?

What an excellent name.

[She rests her chin in her palm.]

Any color of the rainbow, really. There are rarer in-between types, but mainly the hemospectrum is composed of twelve colors ranging from red to fuchsia.

So red on one end fuchsia on the other? Which end is which?

[She nods.]

Red is considered a mutant color, never mind how vastly problematic that is, and are considered bottom of the storage receptacle. And on the other end of the spectrum are the fuchsia or tyrian bloods, who are royalty and responsible for the well-being of the rest of society. The rest of the spectrum—rust-bloods, green-bloods, blue-bloods, purple-bloods, all of which contain several smaller categories, fit in between those two. Which plants me firmly in the middle-class.

[She smiles, albeit grimly. The hemospectrum and its societal implications was one of the things she wished would have been different on Beforus.]

Storage receptacle? Like a bucket or something?

[Her eyebrows shoot up so far they disappear into her bangs.]

Interesting word choice. No, I was thinking more of a, ah, barrel is the word.

Barrel, yeah, that's the sayin', but barrels aren't used much by average people.

But that reaction sure was interestin'. What's up with buckets?

[genitrix]

[She's not shy about sex, ever. Pails are something rather familiar to her. But still, it's something that's not much spoken about in her society, and it's a bit difficult to parse when speaking with a human.]

Buckets are part of our reproductive process. It's not something usually discussed among trolls, so it's a bit surprising to hear a human bringing it up so nonchalantly.

They're used for cleaning and storage in our society, so to hear it has special meaning is strange to us.

[he briefly considers asking how buckets are used in troll reproduction, but decides that's way too much xenobiology]

Ah. Well that's certainly a different context. I can see how you would be so nonchalant about it.

[She arches a gold-laden brow.]

That's a rather heavy question, but if you must know--we were all blown up by our dear leader.

You know what I died of, though how I'm not dead here as well, I don't know.

[She tilts her head toward his wound.]

Is it feeling alright? Not bleeding too much?

[puppetcrumpet]

[he gently prods his wound, wincing a little]

Yeah, think I'll be fine. Thanks.

[genitrix]

Good. [She pulls herself up so she's kneeling.]

Look, if you need anything, please let me know. I feel somewhat responsible.

[puppetcrumpet]

You're not the one who stabbed me, but I appreciate it.

[genitrix]

Well, I know, but—I'm a jade-blood. We mother. It's what we do.

[She gives him a wry smile, and turns. Over her shoulder, she calls:]

See you around, Bro.

[puppetcrumpet]

See you. [he gives her a smile and then slowly gets back to his feet to go wonder somewhere else]
