[She keeps a calming, steady hand on his stomach next to the wound, both to monitor his breathing and to keep any additional blood flow at bay. Neatly, she zig-zags stitches up the length of the wound. She's used to fabric, but familiar with the principles of stitching skin. After a few minutes, it's over.]

Only seven stitches. Do you feel alright? Do you need water?

[puppetcrumpet]

[he looks at the stitches. It shouldn't surprise him that it was so few. His blade wasn't very wide. But such a little wound could still be fatal]

I'm fine. [he said] Thanks. [the gratitude was a little muffled]

[genitrix]

[She discards of the needle and shifts so that her legs are beneath her, settling in next to him.]

You're welcome. Do you have a name?

[puppetcrumpet]

Bro Strider. And your name?

[of course everyone has a name, he just doesn't like to go by his true first name, preferring Bro]

[genitrix]

Bro Strider.

[She repeats the name slowly, like she's savoring it. Then, she holds out a hand, sharp nails painted her signature jade green.]

Porrim Maryam.

[puppetcrumpet]

[well his hand doesn't have painted nails, but they do have calluses from his sword. He also has a strong grip, not like "I'm trying to break your hand" strong, but "I'm not trying to break your hand, but I could if I wanted to" strong. So Porrim, enjoy the handshake, it's purely to be ironically normal for once]

[genitrix]

[She shakes, not limply but firmly and elegantly, and then allows her hand to fall back to her lap.]

Strong grip. I like that.

[puppetcrumpet]

[when she let go he moved his hand back to inspect the stitches a little more]

Wasn't lack of strength that did this. It was an ironic glitch in game mechanics.

[genitrix]

I wouldn't have thought that would be it.

[She winces a little, looking at the wound again.]

You strike me as more capable than that.

[puppetcrumpet]

Earth's first guardian got protrotyped while my lil man turned half crowsprite were fightin' the arch-agent wearing the queen's ring.

[and there's the story of Earth's game session... well, Beta Earth, anyways]

That...sounds complicated.

At least in comparison to my experiences.

[puppetcrumpet]

What happened?

[genitrix]

Basically? We were all blown up. And now we're ghosts.

[She flops backward onto the cushions beneath her. Talking about it is always a bit disheartening.]

[puppetcrumpet]

You do not appear very ghost-like.

[genitrix]

[She snorts, rolling onto her side facing him, glancing down at his newly stitched wound, checking on it.]

I'm not invisible, and I can't walk through walls. [She bats her lashes at him.] The blank eyes are the tell.

[puppetcrumpet]

And I was just thinking it was an alien thing. [he smirks]

[genitrix]

Just the dead ones.

Are the eye shades just a human thing, or...?

[puppetcrumpet]

The eye shades? [for a moment he is confused] You mean my sick anime shades? They're a point of ironic representation.

[genitrix]

[She blinks at him.]

What are you being ironic about?

[puppetcrumpet]

[he takes them off]

Humans with eyes like mine might be ashamed.

[he smirks, keeping his very orange eyes open]

But I only hide them to ironically go with others.

[genitrix]

[Her brows rise with a glint of gold jewelry, nearly disappearing into her bangs.]

That's certainly different.

[She's right up in his face now, inspecting his rather unusual irises.]

It doesn't reflect your blood color, though, correct?

[puppetcrumpet]

Humans all have the same blood color, or at least varying shades of red.

[he pauses]

Unless in an anaerobic environment. In which case its blueish purple.

[genitrix]

I thought as much.

[She pulls back, giving him his breathing room back.]

Still, what a fascinating color. My eyes used to be green, back when I had actual irises.

[puppetcrumpet]

Judging by your comments, I would say, that matched your blood color?

[genitrix]

[She nods.]
